9th Annual Wilmington Dog Jog - Saturday September 6, 2008
The Dog Jog features a 5k run (humans only), 1.5 mile fun walk (humans and dogs), the Pooch Plunge at the Legion swimming pool (dogs only), vendors, doorprizes and much more!  For more information click here.

Northside Splashpad Grand Opening
Join us on Wednesday August 13, 2008 at 10:00 am for the Grand Opening of the Northside Splashpad located adjacent to the pool at 750 Bess Street.  The Splashpad features interactive water play for all ages and is a fully automated, zero depth recreational system that includes features such as geysers, water cannons, dumping buckets and much more!

The Parks, Recreation and Downtown Services Division provides citizens with diverse opportunities, unique experiences and exceptional amenities.  A broad range of activities include Recreation Programs for all ages, Downtown ServicesFilm Services, Special Events and a myriad of Athletic opportunities.  The division also includes the Municipal Golf Course.

MISSION:  The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board strives to effectively assess the wishes of the citizens of Wilmington regarding the needs, planning, and management for the quality of parks, facilities, and recreation programs while advocating for the improvement of these programs"

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is working on determining the best methods to improve and expand parks, facilities, green space and recreational opportunities utilizing both public and private resources.  The 11 member Advisory Board  is seeking input from the public in order to achieve this goal.  Individuals wishing to provide input may send an email to info@wilmingtonrecreation.com or may mail a comment directly to the following address:
