The Department is made up of three sections.  The Administration Division, Patrol Operations Bureau and the Support Operations Bureau.

We are currently located at 615 Bess Street. A new 85,000 square foot state- of-the-art facility was dedicated on December 11, 2006, This new facility includes increased office space, a fitness facility, an officer training facility, a community meeting room and much more.

The Department prides itself on utilizing the latest law enforcement technology in the fight against crime. Our police vehicles are equipped with MDTs (Mobile Digital Terminals) Cameras, and our agency is currently utilizing Mobile Field Reporting.

The City is divided into patrol districts each of which is staffed with patrol officers who work around the clock protecting the life and property of almost 100,000 residents.

The Wilmington Police Department averages more than 140,000 calls for service each year.
