Citizen Police Academy – A 10-12 week course specifically designed for individuals who desire a one-on-one experience with law enforcement. Sign-up for the next academy at (910) 343-3945.  See 2008 Schedule for class times.

Ride-a-Long Program – This program allows law abiding citizens the opportunity to ride along with a sworn police officer. Sign-up by calling (910) 343-3945 or by downloading the application and returning it to the Police Department Headquarters. 

Santa Cop – Christmas project which allows police personnel to take under-privileged children shopping for toys. An estimated 100 youths are supported each year.

Think Smart – Specially trained prison inmates are escorted to area community programs to address audiences about the consequences of committing crimes.
