The Wilmington Police Department accepts applications from NC Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certified applicants and Non Certified applicants. 

Once hired, Non Certified applicants will attend the Wilmington Police Department Training Academy.

Employment applications are accepted through the City of Wilmington Human Resources Department.  Applications are only accepted when a position is being advertised.  When applications are being accepted, they will be available for download on this site.

The minimum requirements for Police Officer application are: 

• 20 Years of Age
• U.S. Citizen
• Possess or be eligible to obtain a NC drivers license
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
