The Wilmington Police Department offers a competitive starting salary of $34,000 annually for Police Officers.  All uniforms and equipment are provided by the agency.  Officer benefits are listed below: 

• Education Incentive Pay: BA or BS Degree  $2,000 added to base salary $36,000 - AS or AA Degree $1,000 added to base salary $ 35,000
•  Up to a $2,500.00 Sign-on Bonus for Officers who qualify.
• 5% employer contribution to a 401(k) and an additional 4.5% employer contribution to 401(k) or 457 plan, for a total contribution of 9.5%
