In addition to the collection of trash, crews also provide daily litter pick up, alley maintenance, bag delivery, street sweeping, emptying public trash receptacles in the City’s parks and on City streets and code enforcement.  From over 250 brick trash receptacles in the Central Business District and City parks, City crews collected almost 200 tons of trash during fiscal year 2006-2007.  Also provided by the Special Services Section is carrion service to veterinarian offices, commercial seafood establishments and City streets.  Figures indicate that over 79 tons of trash was collected from this service during fiscal year 2006-2007.
