- APPROVED. Adoption of the city’s plan that outlines how federal funding will be utilized over the next five years to address issues such as affordable housing.
- APPROVED. An ordinance allocating $506,702 in WMPO grant funds and $126,676 in city funds to install devices in at least 27 traffic signals throughout the city. Wilmington Fire Department trucks would be equipped with signal preemption devices and GPS equipment that would automatically temporarily change the signal to green as it approached, while all other signals at the intersection would be red. After the firetruck passes through the intersection, the signal would return to normal operation. These devices can reduce intersection crashes by up to 70 percent and improve response times.
