A third public input meeting was held on May 17 at New Hanover High School cafeteria, 1307 Market Street, to discuss the development of a new zoning district. The first meeting was held on March 22 and the second meeting was held on April 19.
The zoning district will be known as the Urban Mixed Use (UMX) district. The city is developing the new zoning district to encourage development and redevelopment within the 1945 corporate limits that would fit with the unique, urban quality of the area.
The city is asking for citizen input to help shape new regulations to guide future development in this area. Interested residents are encouraged to attend these meetings to get more information and provide feedback.
