The center court at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex should be complete this week. The net is being installed this week and the court should be ready for use the week of June 11.
The $39,000 project was funded with balances left in the Empie Park tennis improvements project from the joint city/county parks bond and a $12,000 grant from the United States Tennis Association. The center court was constructed in the area in front of the clubhouse (see the picture on the left above).
Construction began on the project in late March.
