Free consumer protection workshop

Free consumer protection workshop

The Mayor, WPD Detective Ostrosky and city zoning administrator John Fullerton will be on hand to discuss home repair contractor fraud and scams at a free public workshop this Saturday. The forum is sponsored by the National Center for the Prevention of Home Improvement Fraud (preventcontractorfraud.org).

Attendees will learn how to identify contractor scams and will receive advice on how to select a contractor. Participants will also learn what should be included in a contract, insurance issues, change orders and payment plans.

The workshop will take place in the David M. Paynter Room at the northeast branch of the New Hanover County Library, located at 1241 Military Cutoff Road from 10:30 a.m. - noon this Saturday, August 4.
