The emergency repairs to the Riverwalk at the foot of Market Street, are nearly complete. Some minor work remains with another phase of the project scheduled to take place later this year.
Repairs to several sections of the Riverwalk are part of the city’s 5-year Improvement Plan. The plan calls for $41 million worth of repairs and improvements to be made to city streets, sidewalks and other facilities such as the Riverwalk.
More than $4.8 million is included for needed repairs and improvements to the Riverwalk. The Church Street Shoreline Stabilization project, reconstruction of the Brooks Building Riverwalk and repairs to three Riverwalk pocket parks are expected to begin in 2013.
