Paving continues as part of 5-Year Improvement Plan

Paving continues as part of 5-Year Improvement Plan

Another street has just been paved as work funded by the city’s 5-year-Improvement Plan continues. Over the last few weeks, work was done to rebuild the surface of Bagley Avenue in preparation for paving. Storm drainage improvements were completed at the same time to minimize the amount of construction time. The paving was completed on Friday, Oct. 26.

Pollocks Way was the next street to receive improvements and paving should be finished soon.

Dozens more city streets will be repaved as part of the city’s $41 million 5-year maintenance plan that was approved in June as part of the 2012-13 budget. In order to minimize disruptions from construction, repaving work is being coordinated to occur at the same time as planned city stormwater improvement projects and water/sewer work done by the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority.
