The Wilmington Police Department recently accepted a donation of more than 20 lap quilts from the American Sewing Guild (ASG). The quilts will be placed in WPD patrol cruisers for officers to offer to victims, particularly children.
The ASG is a national organization dedicated to advancing sewing as a life and art skill. Many of their 135 chapters do sewing-related service projects such as this for their communities.
The patrol officers began distributing the quilts on Thursday, Nov. 1.
