Parkway Dr closed starting Nov. 13

Parkway Dr closed starting Nov. 13

Parkway Drive will be closed beginning next week as implementation of the city’s 5-year-Improvement Plan continues. The street will receive a complete facelift, with the existing road foundation being excavated and replaced before being repaved. While the road will be closed to thru traffic beginning Nov. 13, homes and businesses will remain accessible. Parkway Drive, located next to Hugh MacRae Park, is often used as a cut-thru between South College Road and Oleander Drive. Digital sign boards have been erected in the area to alert motorists.

Over the last month, several city streets have been paved as a result of the $41 million, 5-Year Maintenance Improvement Plan. Funds for the plan were set aside as part of the 2012-13 budget and cannot be used for anything else. Sebrell Avenue, Ridgeway Drive, Highland Drive, Grace Street between 3rd & 4th streets, Pollocks Way and Bagley Avenue have all been paved.
