The city is applying for a $151,000 grant to partially fund the construction of a greenway along Park Avenue from Empie Park to Audubon Boulevard.
The city posted an online survey for citizens to provide their input. The deadline to complete the survey has now expired, and the results will be released soon.
The greenway would allow people to walk, bike, jog, roller blade and roller skate safely along a separate paved path that would connect to the Gary Shell Cross-City Trail at Empie Park. This section of Park Avenue is a well-used part of the River to Sea Bikeway.
