The city held a public meeting to discuss a future Seagate Area Park on Thursday, January 24.
The park is being planned on a one-acre parcel of land located at 6001 Mariner Lane (formerly Hinton Avenue). For interested citizens who were unable to attend the meeting, an online survey has been created to gather additional public input. Click here to take the survey.
A one-acre parcel on Mariner Lane (formerly Hinton Avenue) in the Seagate neighborhood was recently donated to the city. The park will be a memorial to original property owners, the late Edward John Haneman (“Captain” Eddy Haneman) and his wife Mary Haneman, who were well known in area for sport fishing/recreation in the 1950s-1990s. Construction for the park is expected to begin later this year.
