TIME to change your batteries!

TIME to change your batteries!

The Wilmington Fire Department would like to remind you that smoke detectors should be replaced every ten years, and batteries should be replaced twice a year.

The easiest way to remember to do this is to change your smoke detector batteries when you change your clocks. Since Daylight Saving Time began last weekend, you should also be sure you have fresh batteries in your smoke detectors.

If you need assistance with your smoke alarm, the Wilmington Fire Department can help with battery replacement, testing or installation of smoke alarms in your home. Please call 910.343.4784 or 910.342.2731 for more information.
