City seeks input for growth plan

City seeks input for growth plan

The city will hold a public input meeting to discuss development of a long-term plan for growth on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall. This is the first of many public meetings where citizens will have the opportunity to provide their input and define their vision for Wilmington’s future.

In February, City Council appointed 15 community members to serve on a steering committee that will oversee development of the plan.

When completed, the comprehensive plan will serve as a policy foundation to proactively manage the city’s growth and development. In addition, the plan will serve as the City’s “to-do” list by establishing priorities that will be implemented over time to help achieve the community’s vision. The plan will be developed over the next 18 months with extensive citizen participation and input.
