Randall Pkwy widening update

Randall Pkwy widening update

Crews continue to make progress on the widening of Randall Parkway. Much of the road bed and new curbing has been installed along the eastbound lanes between Independence Boulevard and Marlboro Street. Weather permitting, paving of these lanes will occur in the next few weeks. Stormwater improvements that will help alleviate flooding in the area are almost complete, including the installation of four major stormwater crossings with catch basins. The stone bed of the Cross-City Trail is also complete from the Randall pond bridge to the Mill Creek Apartments.

In the coming weeks, crews will begin installing the new roadbed and curbing along the westbound lanes of Randall, between Independence Boulevard and Marlboro Street. More than half of the project’s $5.6 million budget comes from federal and state monies, with most of the remaining funding coming from the 2006 voter-approved transportation bond.
