A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the re-opening of Greenfield Amphitheater was held on Wednesday, May 28 at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony took place at the site of the Amphitheater in Greenfield Park. Mayor Bill Saffo spoke at the event and helped cut the ribbon.
The Amphitheater, originally built in 1962, underwent $1.2 million in renovations which began last August. The renovations were partially funded by the 2006 Parks and Greenspace Bond and include:
The first event to be held in the newly renovated amphitheater will be the 16th Annual Shakespeare on the Green performances which begin in June.
