The city has sent out requests for a new convention center hotel developer. The deadline for proposals is January 26, 2010.
In November, City Council agreed to send out another request to build a privately-funded hotel next to the downtown convention center. The city had previously selected a developer for the hotel, but that deal fell through after the developer could not provide evidence of adequate financing.
