Following are dates of interest for this week:
Monday, February 1, New stormwater pollution prevention hotline
Effective Feb. 1, the city has opened a new stormwater pollution prevention hotline that allows citizens a way to report violations. The hotline is another way the city is raising awareness of the city's new stormwater regulations that went into effect in November 2009. The new regulations outline what should not be discharged into the storm drainage system, which drains directly into local waterways.

Tuesday, February 2, City Council meeting, 6:30 p.m. at City Hall
Items of interest include:
- Naming the recipient of the city's first ever annual City Service Award. City Council created the award last year to recognize citizens who give significant time and effort to the community by serving on a City board or commission. This will be the first award given.
- Changing the time of the public information portion of City Council meetings to occur earlier during the meetings. The public information portion of the meeting is different from public hearings in that citizens can provide comments to City Council on miscellaneous items, whereas public hearings are for providing input on specific items Council is considering for a vote.
