Items of interest on the agenda included:
- Approval of a $605,000 contract to Constructive Buildings Solutions, Inc. of Wilmington, NC to make changes to several city facilities to make them more energy efficient. The project is funded with federal stimulus funds and includes installing solar panels at two buildings at the city’s Operations Complex on River Road, updating lighting at 12 locations, replacing the existing flat roof over Thalian Hall with a more energy efficient roof and installing programmable thermostats at 6 city facilities.
- An ordinance to rename a two-block portion of Nutt Street around the new convention center to North Water Street.

The next City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, which is located on the second floor of City Hall at 102 North Third Street. Parking is available in the Thalian Hall parking lot, or in the City parking deck which is located directly across from City Hall. Meetings are also broadcast on GTV (Time Warner Cable channel 8), simulcast on the city's website, or are available on demand following the meeting by clicking “Online Videos.”
