On April 19, the city changed the day and the time trash, recycling and yard waste was picked up for many city trash customers in order to be more efficient and save money. This change only affected city trash customers.
The city changed all routes so that trash, recycling, yard waste and bulky items can be picked up on the same day while saving approximately $260,000 a year because the routes are more efficient. The city reports that the pickup day change has been very successful with very few problems.
It is important to note that when changing the pickup schedule, the time of day that customers' trash, recycling, yard waste or bulky items were picked up may also have changed. Customers are asked to have all items at the curb by 7:30 a.m. The city appreciates the patience of customers during this transition and expect any minor problems to be corrected soon.
City trash customers can check their pickup day by checking the Trash Routes page.
