The city will begin the reconstruction and realignment of Nutt Street this month.
Nutt Street will be realigned to become an extension of Water Street. This project is part of the overall revitalization of the north downtown riverfront area, which includes the Convention Center and CFCC parking deck projects. The map on the left shows projects in this area of the city.
This improvement is another in a series of city projects to install public infrastructure in the northern downtown as part of an overall effort to attract private investment and business to the area.
Work will be done in three phases:
- Phase 1 (July/August/September): Estell Lee Drive to Hanover Street.
- Phase 2 (September/October): Water Street to Estell Lee Drive (includes intersection realignment and resurfacing of Red Cross St).
- Phase 3 (September/October): Hanover Street to Brunswick Street (includes resurfacing of Hanover and Brunswick St).
All work is expected to be substantially complete prior to the opening of the Convention Center this fall. |
