The City of Wilmington, in cooperation with the Cape Fear Green Building Alliance (CFGBA), held a dedication ceremony on Monday, October 1 to celebrate the completion of the Toomer's Alley renovation. Toomer's Alley, located between Kingoff's Jewelers and the former Bailey Theater, underwent a major renovation. The alley serves as a convenient connector for pedestrians from the Market Street Parking Deck to North Front Street. 
The CFGBA, a non-profit organization that champions environmentally friendly construction and best practices, received a grant to install a pervious concrete surface to the alley.
