Phase I of the Pine Grove/Masonboro Realignment, which includes drainage ditch clean-up and construction of the new road alignment at Pine Grove Road, will be complete by the end of July, allowing the road between Pine Grove and Masonboro Sound Road to re-open.
Phase II, which includes rebuilding Masonboro Loop Road from Pine Grove to the Andrews Reach and Courtyard at Masonboro developments, will begin August 1. As a result, Masonboro Loop to the Pine Grove/Masonboro Sound intersection will be closed to thru traffic beginning next week. However, access to local businesses will remain open. Beasley Road will continue to be available as a detour. Work is expected to be complete this fall.
The city regrets any inconvenience that might be caused while we work to improve traffic flow and safety.
