Making Progress on Cross-City Trail

The city continues to make progress on Phase III of the Cross City Trail, which is currently under construction. This section of the trail will be 3.4 miles long and run from the intersection of Randall Pkwy/South College Road, around the UNCW campus and along Rose Avenue, with sidewalks and on-road bike lanes on Mallard Drive, Rill Road and Teal Street. The city received $2 million in federal stimulus funding for this phase of the trail.
This week, final touches will be made on the portion of the trail running through the UNCW campus and work on Rill Road/Mallard Drive will continue. Phase III is expected to be completed later this month.
