Fourteen recruits were inducted into the Wilmington Police Department on Friday, November 17 after they completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) offered by the Wilmington Police Department. Recruits must successfully complete the 16-week course, which also includes a physical agility test and written exam. The new officers will hit the streets with a Police Training Officer (PTO) and upon satisfactory performance, will be released to work solo.
