Code enforcement has a responsibility to enforce City ordinances that:

  • provide a safe community and vibrant neighborhoods; and,
  • promote a healthy and safe environment for citizens and visitors

In addition, we are responsible for increasing public understanding of the City's policies and procedures, through community events and participation, and various media outlets.

Sec. 5-112. Health or Safety hazard vehicle unlawful; removal authorized.permanent link to this piece of content

(a)    It shall be unlawful for the registered owner or person entitled to possession of a motor vehicle, or for the owner, lessee, or occupant of the real property upon which the vehicle is located to leave or allow the vehicle to remain on the property after it has been declared a health or safety hazard.

(b)    Upon investigation, the authorizing city official may determine and declare that a vehicle is a health or safety hazard vehicle as defined above, and order the vehicle removed.
