Of the appropriated funds, $4,948,744.57 has been spent or is encumbered. The remaining $1,882,625.43 is allocated for approved sections on the adopted map that are currently in design or conceptual design stage.
On August 12, 2011 the Wilmington City Council approved a time extension which will provide NCDOT with enough time to complete the project. The relevant agenda item is here, listed as Item C4.
