History of Hillcrest
Hillcrest Housing complex was constructed circa 1941, at the beginning on World War II .It was primarily built to provide affordable housing for officers of Camp Davis, in addition to shipyard employees and their family members. Following the war the City of Wilmington wanted to convert the apartment complex into subsidized housing. After a congressional action was the taken, it was transferred to Wilmington Housing Authority, its current owner.
Features and Amenities:
This center has a small multi-purpose room in service as activity/game room. Hillcrest in furnished with a full service kitchen.

After school Program
Hillcrest's after school program provides structured homework assistance, arts and crafts, recreational activities, and field trips.
Dates: Mon- Fri. 2:30pm - 6:00pm
Summer Camp
Summer Adventure Camp offers nine weeks of interactive fun. Program includes a full day of games, arts and crafts, fieldtrips, sports, and enrichment activities.
Dates: Mon- Fri. 7:30 am - 5:30pm
Spring/Christmas Break Program
Programs offers great boredom busters for youth during Christmas and Spring Break. Exciting field trips are provided. Activities vary from outdoor fun and games, to awesome arts and crafts.
Dates: Date varies-pending on school calendar

This facility is owned by the Wilmington Housing Authority. Youth programs are provided by the City of Wilmington.
