Greenfield Tree Lighting and Holiday Movie

  • Thursday December 1, 2016
  • Greenfield Lake Park at the Amphitheater - 1941 Amphitheater Drive
  • Entertainment by the Wilmington Conservatory of Fine Arts beginning at 5:15 pm
  • Tree lighting ceremony begins at 6:00 pm followed by the arrival of Santa!
  • Visitation with Santa will begin after his arrival, bring your cameras!
  • Showing of the holiday movie, Home Alone to begin at 7:00 pm at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater
  • Home Alone movie synopsis:  When bratty 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) acts out the night before a family trip to Paris, his mother (Catherine O'Hara) makes him sleep in the attic. After they mistakenly leave for the airport without Kevin, he awakens to an empty house and assumes his wish to have no family has come true. But his excitement sours when he realizes that two con men (Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern) plan to rob the McCallister residence and that he alone must protect the family home.
  • Tree will remain lit through Dec. 31st.
  • Tree lighting, Santa visitation and movie are free and open to the public.  Concessions available for sale.
  • This event is presented by the City of Wilmington.

Wilmington Holiday Parade

  • Sunday December 4, 2016
  • Parade begins at the corner of N. Front and Walnut at 4:55 pm traveling south on Front to Church Street

  • Entry deadline was Nov. 16th, we are no longer accepting additional units.
  • Live coverage of the parade will be shown on Time Warner Cable channel 1245, ATMC channel 72,Charter Cable channel 197 and Over the Air on channel 6.2. beginning at 5:00 pm.
  • The parade is sponsored by the City of Wilmington, WECT, Cumulus Broadcasting and Encore Magazine
  • Event is a free event open to the public.
