2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) in Wilmington.  We are currently in the process of planning a year-long celebration of the anniversary, complete with lectures, competitions, birthday celebrations, exhibits, tours and more. We invite you to join us!

We are creating a calendar of events, in both print and virtual formats, that includes not only the HPC’s events, but other events throughout the city that promote Wilmington’s history and/or historic preservation.  If you have an event planned for 2012 that you think would fit on the calendar, please forward it to hpc@wilmingtonnc.gov for inclusion on a print calendar.  You can also continue to send events throughout the year so that we can update online information.  

Would you like to be a part of the celebration, but do not have an event planned?  We are looking for organizations to help us further develop certain events, including exhibits, tours and competitions.  If you are interested in finding out more information about these opportunities, please contact us at hpc@wilmingtonnc.gov.
