Education requests must be made at least two weeks in advance.
The following educational programs are available at no cost to our citizens:
- Station Tours. Fire Station Tours are conducted at any of the city's 11 fire stations. Tours are educational and available to any age group. To schedule a tour, complete the Fire Education Request Form.
- Truck Display. We offer educational access to a fire truck for a special event or lesson (no birthday parties). To schedule a fire truck visit, complete the Fire Education Request Form.
- Fire Extinguisher Training. Learn the proper use of a multi-purpose fire extinguisher with this hands-on training. For groups of at least ten or more, ages 18 and up. An outdoor space and access to a water hose is necessary for the hands-on component of this training. To schedule a fire extinguisher training, complete the Fire Education Request Form. Fire Education Classes. We offer a variety of classes on home and/or commercial fire safety, tailored to meet your needs. To schedule a fire safety class, complete the Fire Education Request Form.
- Fire Safety House. This mobile classroom is designed to teach vital burn-prevention and fire escape techniques through a fun, safe simulation of common hazards. The Fire Safety House is designed to accommodate up to 12 people and can be reserved for up to three hours. For more information and to request a visit from the Fire Safety House, please complete the Fire Education Request Form. Additionally, Fire Safety House permission slips are required for any participant under age eighteen.
