Mayor Bill Saffo and city Zoning Administrator John Fullerton will be on hand to discuss home repair contractor fraud and scams at a free public workshop this Saturday from 10-11:30 a.m. The workshop will be held in the Pine Room at the Northeast Branch of the New Hanover County Library, located at 1241 Military Cutoff Road.
Attendees will learn how to identify contractor scams and receive advice on how to select a contractor. Participants will also learn what should be included in a contract, insurance issues, change orders and payment plans. The forum is sponsored by the National Center for the Prevention of Home Improvement Fraud (preventcontractorfraud.org).
Those interested should email rsvp@ncphif.org or call 855.2-NOFRAUD. Pre-registration is not mandatory, but is requested.
