The facility is provided as a venue for performances, programs, exhibitions, athletic events and other activities that are in the interest of the community.  The stadium is designed to host events that will attract a significant crowd.   Legion  is the home facility for New Hanover High School, the Wilmington Sharks (baseball),  the Wilmington Hammerheads of the United States Soccer League and American Legion Post 10 baseball.
