The City will close a portion of Pine Grove Drive beginning Monday, December 17. The closure will allow ongoing sewer repairs in the area to be completed faster.
The road re-opened for the holidays from December 23 - 25 but was closed again on December 26. It will re-open again on January 5. The closure will take place between Hewlett’s Way and Crooked Creek Road near the Hewlett’s Creek Pump Station while crews install a 24-inch sewer force main pipe and make upgrades to the pump station.
The remaining portions of Pine Grove Drive will be open, but one-lane closures will continue until the repair work is completed. Electronic message boards and signage will be set up to notify motorists and notices will be hand-delivered to businesses and residences in the area.
The work along Pine Grove is part of three major projects currently underway to repair the Northeast Interceptor sewer force main (NEI). The $6 million in repairs are expected to be completed in January. The city regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
