The executive search firm hired by the city to recruit a new fire chief will hold two public forums to identify characteristics citizens would like the new chief to have. Emergency Consulting Services Inc. (ESCI), based in Wilsonville, Oregon, will hold meetings Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday, January 30. Interested citizens are invited to attend either forum.
The Wilmington City Council agreed earlier this month to use ESCI to conduct a nationwide search to recruit a new fire chief. Current Chief Sam Hill is retiring in March. Last year, ESCI conducted an organizational assessment of the fire department. ESCI anticipates the search will take three to five months.
Input from the forums will help ESCI identify potential candidates with the specific skills, knowledge and abilities that provide the best match for Wilmington. The forums will be held:
