Nature Camps at Halyburton Park
Nature Discovery Camp
Mon. - Fri., June 21-25 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Campers will explore and discover the many animals and plants that call the park home. Each day campers will safely explore different habitats and learn about dragonflies, butterflies, spiders, snakes, frogs, toads, birds and other wildllife.
Jr. Naturalist Camp
Mon. - Fri., July 26-30 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Explore and discover the different habitats in the park and in Wilmington, enhancing your camper's knowledge of the many plants and animals living here. Campers will learn how to safely explore, observe and appreciate wildlife like dragonflies, butterflies, snakes, turtles, lizards, frogs, spiders and insects.
Mon. - Fri., August 9-13 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
We'll visit sea turtles, conduct a mini-beach sweep, explore a marsh, stroll the beach discovering the many seashells of the coast, hike, go bird watching, crabbing and seine to discover aquatic creatures. On Friday we'll travel tho Myrtle Beach and visit Ripley's Aquarium and watch an IMAX movie.
Nature Art Camps
Mon. - Fri., June 14-18 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Mon. - Fri., July 12-16 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Mon. - Fri., August 16-20 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Each student will bring home a new piece of art including water color paintings, drawings, hand made paper, sculptures, and much more.
Halyburton Park offers a variety of nature programs for adults, seniors and children. The park is located at 4099 S. 17th Street.
