The National Weather Service has advised to expect flooding on Water Street between noon and 1 p.m. The effects may include up to 2-1/2 feet of water due to the recent heavy rains and high tide.
Although high tide today is at 1:07 p.m., the flooding will last the duration of the high tide crest and will be most severe between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.
If you are in the affected area, please take protective measures immediately!
NEVER DRIVE OR WALK IN STANDING WATER.
Please report any drinking water or waste water incidents to the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority by calling 332-6550.
