The city is conducting an in-depth study of the far eastern end of Wrightsville Avenue and the surrounding area. The City of Wilmington and the Town of Wrightsville Beach have started developing the Wrightsville Sound Small Area Plan. The general boundaries of the study area are from Bradley Creek north to the Landfall subdivision, and from Wrightsville Sound east to Oleander Drive/Military Cutoff Road.
The city invites the public to participate in the planning process of the Wrightsville Sound Small Area Plan and is seeking input. A workshop was held on Wednesday September 8 where citizens determined the planning boundaries for the proposed plan. A second workshop for the public will be held on Saturday October 16th
, where participants will define the VISION of Wrightsville Sound and identify the GOALS of the community. The workshop will be held from 9:30am to 12:30pm
at the New Hanover County Northeast Regional Library
