Long-range plan kick-off

The city will hold a kick-off public input meeting for the development of a long-range growth plan on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall.

Mayor Bill Saffo will be on hand to speak at the first of many public input meetings where citizens will have the opportunity to provide their input and define their vision for Wilmington’s future. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

City Council appointed 15 community members to serve on a steering committee that will oversee development of the plan. When completed, this long-term plan – called a comprehensive plan – will serve as a policy foundation to proactively manage the city’s growth and development. 

In addition, the plan will serve as the City’s “to-do” list by establishing priorities that will be implemented over time to help achieve the community’s vision. The plan will be developed over the next 18 months with extensive citizen participation and input. To learn more:
