Public Input Meeting, Thurs May 30

On Thursday, May 30, the city will hold a public input meeting about a major stormwater improvement project upcoming in the Brookshire/Beasley Road area. The meeting will be held beginning at 6 p.m. at Parsley Elementary School, located at 3518 Masonboro Loop Road.

The city needs to get input from area residents to determine where the most significant flooding problems are located and to tell the city how the project might impact their properties. This $4 million project will be one of the largest drainage/flooding improvement projects the city has ever done.

Input from residents before the project is designed is important because the city will need access to private property when construction is going on, and in some cases will need to purchase easements from homeowners.
