Greenville Loop sidewalks

Crews have finished clearing vegetation along Greenville Loop Road in preparation for the installation of a ½-mile sidewalk.

Because the sidewalks are being constructed in areas that currently have storm ditches, drainage pipes will be installed beginning Monday, June 3. The new pipes will improve drainage in the area during heavy rains. Drivers should expect occasional lane closures, but they will only occur when necessary between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic. Full road closures are not expected.

When complete later this summer, the sidewalk will connect Bradley Creek Elementary School to the Greenville Village Community to create a safer walking route for students and parents.

This project is partially funded by a $211,000 Federal "Safe Routes to Schools" grant, with another $153,000 in matching funds provided by the city.
