At their next meeting on June 18, City Council will take the final vote on the 2013-14 budget, consider a rezoning request for property on Surry Street along the Cape Fear River and accept a $15,000 donation from Henry Johnston for this year's July 4th fireworks celebration among other things. The Wrightsville Beach drawbridge will be up longer than normal Wednesday, June 19 at 5 p.m. so that a house can be transported by barge on the Intracoastal Waterway. The house will then be transported by land on Thursday morning starting at 9 a.m., blocking both lanes of U.S. 74.
