Safer Route to School

Crews began installing the ½-mile sidewalk along Greenville Loop Road between Bradley Creek Elementary School and the Greenville Village community on July 22. In addition to installing the sidewalks, pipes have been installed over the last several weeks to improve drainage in the area during heavy rains.

Drivers should continue to expect occasional lane closures between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic. Full road closures are not expected.

When complete later this summer, the sidewalk will create a safer walking route for students and parents. The project is partially funded by a $211,000 Federal "Safe Routes to Schools" grant, with another $153,000 in matching funds provided by the city.
