Bring your Bradley Creek Elementary student to school for bicycle and pedestrian training on Saturday, August 24th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.! Students who participate will receive a backpack and will be eligible for prizes, including many bicycle accessories. A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available. The training event is hosted by the city and WMPO and is part of the Safe Routes to School funding award from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the Bradley Creek Safe Routes to School Project.
Only students attending Bradley Creek Elementary School may participate, but friends and family are encouraged to watch and learn. If your child has a bicycle and/or helmet, they are encouraged to bring it, but it is NOT required.
- 9:00-9:15 am - Registration
- 9:15-9:30 am - Helmet fitting/bicycle assignments
- 9:30-10:00 am - Bike safety training
- 10:00-10:30 am - Pedestrian safety training
- 10:30-10:50 am - Sidewalk art activity
- 10:50-11:00 am - Giveaway prizes
The Safe Routes to School funds contributed toward the ongoing construction of the sidewalk between Bradley Creek Elementary School and Greenville Mobile Home Park, the Bradley Creek Safe Routes to School outreach event and will also include the purchase of a bike rack for the school.
