The Wilmington Metropolitan Planning Organization (WMPO) held an open house on Sept. 23 at Halyburton Park to assist with the development of Cape Fear Transportation 2040.
Cape Fear Transportation 2040 is a long-term plan that will be used by federal, state and local governments to guide transportation projects in our region over the next 25 years. It is a requirement to secure federal transportation funds for our region. The current transportation plan, Cape Fear Commutes 2035, will expire in December 2015.
Planners are conducting a 16-question survey about transportation issues and services in the greater Wilmington area and are seeking the public's input. The results will be used to help determine how we should invest in transportation facilities for the next 25+ years. So far, more than 2,800 residents of the Cape Fear region have completed the survey.
Take the survey.
