The City of Wilmington began work on another segment of Park Avenue as part of its 5-year infrastructure improvement plan on Sept. 30. One portion of Park Avenue has already been paved and now drainage improvements are being added on another section between Hinton and Greenville avenues.
The work will cause intermittent lane closures, but no road closures are expected. After the drainage improvements are finished, the road will be repaved between Hinton and Greenville avenues, which is expected to be completed by the end of November.
The city completed paving on the section of Park Avenue between Hawthorne Drive and Hinton Avenue in August when several miles of roads were repaved in the College Acres area.
